NCC Theater Presents: "Doubt"

Location: All performances are in NCC's Little Theater and begin at 8 p.m.; Sunday shows start at 3 p.m.

The play "Doubt" will be presented by the NCC Department of Theater and Dance. The plot wrangles with issues of sexual abuse within the Catholic church as the protagonist nun, "Sister Aloysius," must confront her suspicions of Father Flynn's sexual misconduct with an altar boy. At the same time, Sister Aloysius is caught in a gap between convention and modernity, represented by a beloved Father Flynn in the parish. The audience must ultimately decide whether they can rely on Sister Aloysius's judgement for the truth.

The Pulitzer Prize winning play has won countless awards including a Tony Award and a New York Drama Desk Award for Best New Play. In 2008, it was made into a film starring Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams.  The movie won five Academy Awards.
