NCC: The 26th Annual Italian Heritage Day Celebration

Location: College Center Building

The college will host a "Italianita in America" celebration in recognition of the remarkable contributions by generations of Italian immigrants in the United States. The day will feature a panel discussion about Italian influences in American Food, Fashion, Furniture, Film and Automobile Features.

The panel discussion includes: 

-Moderator: Dr. Maria Mann, Foreign Languages, Nassau Community College

-Panelists: Grace Balducci Doria, Prof. Rona Casciola, Prof. Roseanne Scarpelli, Prof. Joseph Pescatore, Dr. Philip Nicholson and Dr. Salvatore LaGumina.

-Ancient Culture: New Country / Italy After Unification: with Dr. Mario Mignone, Distinguished Service Prof. and Director of the Center for Italian Studies, Stony Brook University.

- Italian Americans Today: A Socio-Demographic Snapshot of the present day with Dr. William Egelman, Prof. of Sociology, Iona College.
