Northeast Queens Restaurants to Remain Open On Christmas Day

Patch Has Compiled a List of 10 Restaurants In and Around Douglaston That Will Be Open on Christmas Day

Don't feel like taking out the good china this Christmas Day? Patch is at your rescue. We have come up with a list of restaurants that will be open for business on the holiday for your dining pleasure. Whether you are in the mood for steak or seafood, Indian or Italian, Turkish or Thai, Vegetarian or Vietnamese or just a good old burger and fries, we have the place for you.

1)      La Baraka: 255-09 Northern Blvd., Little Neck. 718-428-1461

The restaurant offers French cuisine with a North African flair and will be opened from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Christmas Day. A special five-course menu will be available for $29.50 per person. Reservations are required.

2)      La Grotta Restaurant- 254-12 Northern Blvd., Little Neck. 718-224-8899

Satisfy your taste buds with a variety of meats, seafood and, of course, pasta at this traditional Italian restaurant. A chef's special will be available on Christmas Day along with their regular menu. Doors open at 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations required.

3)      Am Yours Café- 242-03 Northern Blvd., Douglaston. 718-224-8666

In the mood for something a bit more spicy and exotic on Christmas Day? Am Yours Café brings a fusion of Thai flavors to your taste buds. The restaurant will be opened from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. No reservations are required.

4)      Kebab House- 255-05 Northern Blvd., Douglaston. 718-225-5318

Offering traditional Middle Eastern dishes such as beef, lamb and chicken kebabs, the restaurant will be open from 11 a.m.- 10 p.m. and will be serving items from their regular menu. No reservations are required.

5)      Little Saigon Cuisine- 253-09 Northern Blvd. 718-631-8000

Vietnamese and Chinese dishes are plentiful at Little Saigon. The restaurant will be open during its normal business hours - 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. - and offering a special Vancouver crab. Although seating is limited, the option of take out is available to customers.

6)       Pier 25A- 215-16 Northern Blvd., Bayside. 718-423-6395

Seafood is the specialty at this Bayside restaurant, but on Christmas Day an exception will be made. Added to their menu will be a traditional roast turkey. Seating will begin at noon and end at 10 p.m. Reservations are required  

7)      Okinawa Japanese Restaurant- 3932 Bell Blvd., Bayside. 718-224-5622

If you prefer eating sushi over the traditional Christmas ham, then this Japanese restaurant and hibachi steakhouse may could a great alternative. Open from 2 p.m. to midnight, the restaurant will be offering lower prices on all menu items. No reservations are required.

8)      Tulip Bar and Grill- 4 Welwhyn Road, Great Neck. 516-487-1070

If Turkish and Indian food sounds appetizing to you, Tulip Bar might be worth checking out this Christmas Day. Enjoy live music and belly dancing as you dine. The restaurant is offering a pre-fixe menu of $65 per person, which includes your choice of seven appetizers, four entrees, three desserts and a beverage. The restaurant will be open from noon to 11 p.m. Live music begins at 9 p.m. and a belly dancer will be performing from 10 p.m. to 10:30pm.

9)      Peter Luger- 255 Northern Blvd, Great Neck. 516-487-8800

Famous for its steaks, the restaurant will be offering traditional dishes from their menu all day. Peter Luger will be open from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations are required to guarantee seating.

10)   Northern Manor Restaurant- 25115 Northern Blvd., Douglaston. 718-281-1500

Along with their selection of Chinese dishes and dim sum, Northern Manor also offers a variety of vegetarian dishes for non-meat eaters. Dishes from their daily menu will be served throughout the day. The restaurant opens at 9:30 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. No reservations required.
