Safia graduated from the University Of California Irvine in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature. Shortly after, she got married, packed her bags and moved to Queens Village, a small town on the cusp of Long Island and Queens. Safia has always been passionate about writing. She started writing poems and short stories from an early age and worked on her High School's newspaper for three years.
She has her own blog which focuses on issues women face on a daily basis, from frivolous fashion flubs to frightening health facts.
After giving birth to her son, Safia quit her job at one of the worlds' largest law firms to focus on what she considers the most important job in the world, her child.
She now enjoys writing for Patch.com, mentoring adolescents and watching her baby become a boy.
