It's a red carpet weekend as Purim goes Hollywood and Little Orphan Annie comes to town

Ready to give your kids the star treatment they deserve? This weekend, you’ll get two chances to feel like a VIP and still be a do-gooder as Purim festival celebrations begin.

Go from generous to glamorous at the pre-Passover food drive that ends with a Hollywood party at the . The combination will give you a great feeling all day long. Show up in costume and you’re guaranteed a few special celebrity perks! Annie fans are also invited to attend the performance in costume. Audiences can stay for a Q&A session with the cast, and an autograph signing, after the show. So, dust off your autograph books — it’s time to be almost famous!

Where/When: Bay Terrace Jewish Center, 13-00 209th St., Bayside, on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Why Go: Kids will enjoy the classic musical on-stage performance of “Annie” and then meet with the cast for a Q-and-A session held after the show. Autographs will be signed. The March 20th performance will also be followed by a Q-and-A session. 
Pricing: Tickets are $20 for adults; $18 for seniors; and $18 for children under 12. To order tickets call 718-428-6363.

Where/When: Samuel Field Y, 58-20 Little Neck Parkway, Little Neck, on Sunday. Food drive begins at 12:30 p.m. ; Hollywood party: 1 p.m.
Why Go: Be part of the 8th Annual Harmony Initiative to fight hunger by donating non-perishable goods including baby food, beans, pasta, rice, and canned foods. Then stay for an early celebration of Purim with Hollywood-themed games and rides.
Pricing: Free; kosher refreshments will be sold. 

Where/When: Queens Botanical Garden, 43-50 Main St., Flushing, on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: A great way to get an early start on your spring vegetable garden. The Children’s Garden Program teaches kids how to plant seeds and educates them about the environment. You can also sign up for the spring session during the open house.

Where/When: 228-06 Northern Blvd., Douglaston, on Saturday 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Why Go: Did you ever wonder where your favorite animal lives? Or how it survives in the wild? This is your chance to find out! Learn how animals stay safe from predators and where they nest. Go on a guided hike in search of nests, burrows and tree holes. Afterward, build the animal homes with the same materials.
Pricing: Members $15; non-members $20


Where/When: Queens Museum of Art in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, on Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon.
Why Go: Visit the studio and explore how to view art and make it. You’ll get to work within a group of 3-4 families affected by Autism. Siblings and grandparents are welcome.
