Bring your children, ages eight to 18, down to the library for Friday afternoon chess club. Kids will learn to play and compete with each other. Preregistration is required. Space is limited.
Summer Camp Preparation at the Samuel Field Y
58-20 Little Neck Parkway, Little Neck
Daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Register your kids, ages two to nine years, for summer camp at the Samuel Filed Y. The programs include a range of activities from sports to travel. For more information on camp fees, visit the Y's website.
Healthy Cooking With Spices
41-17 Main St, Flushing

Free
All members of the family are invited to learn how to prepare healthy, fresh and delicious meals from scratch. Participants will have the opportunity to sample prepared foods. For more information, call 718-990-5197.
Bilingual Theater, Movement and Dance for Children Workshop
Thalia Spanish Theatre - 41-17 Greenpoint Avenue, Sunnyside

Fee: $150, but discounts are available for families of who enroll multiple children
Ages 5 - 12
Instructor Armando Moreno, director of Mestizo Dance Company, will be teaching this 12-part series, which incorporates movement and dance, to both Spanish and English-speaking children. The workshop will encourage youths to explore their diverse cultural backgrounds. At the end of the program, children will perform for the community at the Thalia Spanish Theater. Classes will be held every Saturday morning through June 18.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

Fee: Pictures with the Easter Bunny will cost $5.
Enjoy an assortment of bagels with cream cheese, eggs, salad, juice and coffee as your kids take pictures with the Easter Bunny, hunt for Easter eggs and enjoy other Easter-themed activities.
