Douglaston Little Neck Library Announces July Programs

Special programs this month include a sign language course, a book discussion and watercolor demonstrations.

The Douglaston Little Neck Library’s special programs for July include two watercolor demonstrations and a sign language class.

The library, located at 249-01 Northern Blvd. in Little Neck, will host Sign, Read and Play on July 31 at 1:30 p.m. This program includes stories and basic signing vocabulary by certified American Sign Language Instructor Jacqueline Ciaramella.

The program, which is aimed at children ages 3 years and below, has limited space and will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Artist Susan Herz will host a watercolor demonstration on July 18 at 4 p.m. And there will be a watercolor painting for tweens and teenagers on July 26 at 2:30 p.m.

The monthly Anna’s Book Discussion will take place on July 9 at 5:45 p.m.

As for the library’s regular programs, Mother Goose Time will be held at 11:15 a.m. on July 8, 15, 22 and 29.

English conversation classes will take place at 1 p.m. on July 8, 15, 22 and 29.

Knitting and crocheting club will be held at 4 p.m. on July 8, 15, 22 and 29.

Dig Into Reading will begin at 3:30 p.m. on July 9, 16, 23 and 30, while Learning to Sew for Teens will kick off at 4 p.m. on July 17 and 24.

Twilight Tales Time will begin at 5:45 p.m. on July 11, 18 and 25. And the library’s AARP driver safety class will be held at 11 a.m. on July 12 and 19.
