Bayside Nonprofit Hosts Week-Long Fundraising Yard Sale

Money raised will go toward center's adult care treatment programs.

Bayside's Shield Institute is hosting a yard sale this week to raise money for the adult care treatment center's programs.

The center, located at 39-09 214th Place, will hold the yard sale until 3:30 p.m. today, but also from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

"We're a nonprofit, so we need to raise some money," Shield Director Elizabeth LaMarca said. "Everything we raise goes toward our programs that provide meaningful experiences for people with disabilities."

At the yard sale, attendees can find everything from jewelry, art, sunglasses and pillows to clothing for men, women and children.
