The most important role I have played in my life is that of a mother and advocate for my two children. As a result of this, I am passionate about effecting change that is in the best interest of all children as a whole. This includes advocacy that will bring about family court system reform resulting in more sensitive, just and humane treatment for all.

I offer workshops through My Time Has Come™ program (http://www.mytimehascome.org), that address the emotional and social well-being of youth and families as they face the ethical challenges of today’s society. My Time Has Come™ program also provides art-related solutions and cultural enrichment workshops tailored to the needs of participants from all racial, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. I credit the effectiveness of this program, to my extensive professional experience and skills gained from working as a teacher in the New York City School System, an Eastern Suffolk BOCES independent consultant, and most importantly, as an informed and committed parent. I am truly happy for the opportunity to work with our at-risk youth, juvenile delinquents, special education and gifted population in my quest to make a difference in this world with the full support of my husband, the My Time Has Come Mental Health Director, James A. Lacy, LCSW.

In 2012, I founded the non-profit organization, Your Time For Creative Empowerment, Inc. (http://www.yourtime4liny.org) as a natural progression towards a broader community involvement, with James A. Lacy, LCSW as the program director. The mission of this organization is as follows:

Your Time for Creative Empowerment is a nonprofit corporation that educates and empowers children, adolescents and parents of both secular and faith-based communities in the Long Island area, through the use of art, fashion and culture as mechanisms to improve interpersonal relation; to avoid pitfalls that are unique to life in the 21st Century; and to specifically identify and effectively develop healthy problem-solving, enhance personal development and increase cultural sensitivity. I am happy to report that with the help of parents, school administrators, volunteers and sponsors, we are making headways with this non- profit organization.

I am also the Owner and Creative Director of a wearable art business based in Bellmore. (http://www.madonacoleoriginals.com) Through Madona Cole Originals™, I offer one- of-a kind and limited edition textile and fashion designs which I create, as solutions for the social and emotional needs of the 21st Century woman and man.

This is how I connect the dots of creativity.
