Described by a longtime church member and employee as "more of a family than a congregation," Christ Evangelical combines time-honored tradition with a welcoming atmosphere. </p> <p>Sunday sermons are led by Rev. Walter Wifall, who also teaches Hebrew and the Old Testament at St. John's University in Queens.</p> <p>The church is also home to Ebenezer Brethren Assembly and the Christ the King congregation, both of which are not affiliated with Christ Evangelical.</p>
