I agree with the tone of this article, that they weren't creative or organized enough in their planning, so good insight from the writer.
But just to clarify: MLS is very popular, and growing more and more every year. I'm basing this on more than my own opinion--player salary increases, a boost in stadium attendance, and lucrative TV contracts are each evidence of its pretty well-established popularity. So the idea behind the stadium isn't such a stupid concept.

Last, but not least, they shouldn't use parkland at all.

Now if St. John's can return to its former national recognized program under Coach Lavin, this town will be jumping again.
