The Douglaston/Little Neck Historical Society has been fighting to preserve and collect artifacts from its two northeastern Queens communities since 1989. Julia Schoeck is the president of the society, which she operates from her Douglaston home. The group's collection of photographs, maps, booklets and memorabilia can be viewed at the Bayside Historical Society's site at Fort Totten, located at 208 Totten Avenue. The society is currently in the process of obtaining its own charter from the state of New York. The organization hosts educational programs, house tours and galas.
