Highlights of some of the happenings taking place in the region.

See “Artist Found in Port Washington Flat,” a one-man play written and starring actor and painter Burt Young, the Academy Award nominee for his role as Paulie in the "Rocky" movies. Young also starred in the movie "Win Win," which was shot in Port Washington. Port Washington Public Library, 7:30 p.m. One Library Drive, Port Washington. Learn more. 

Take the kids to see “The Monster Who Ate My Peas” performed by ArtsPower National Touring Theater at the Tilles Center for The Performing Arts, 720 Northern Blvd., Brookville. Saturday, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tickets: $15-$23. Learn more. 

See H. David Stein’s “Deconstructed Flowers,” a photography exhibit highlighting a mosaic of flora. The exhibit runs Tuesdays-Saturdays. Queens Botanical Garden, 43-50 Main Street in Queens. Admission: $4 Adult; $3 Seniors; $2 Students with ID and children over 3. Learn more.
