Sunday marks the 29th Annual Great Neck Plaza AutoFest and Street Festival, from 12-4:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Village of Great Neck Plaza Business Improvement District, the event features more than 100 vintage automobiles, including the one-of-a-kind 1926 Stutz “Speedster,” custom built for Cornelius and Grace Vanderbilt. All car registrations at this year’s festival will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, and there will be opportunity to donate to Wounded Warrior Project at the event.
Join Alley Pond Environmental Center for its Natural Estuaries Day Festival on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Douglaston. The event celebrates the nation's coastal bays, sounds, and lagoons-the magnificent places where rivers meet the seas. Discover how Little Neck Bay provides a variety of sea life with habitat, as well as recreational opportunities. Visit the Long Island Fair Friday-Sunday at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration. This family-friendly festival offers a range of attractions, including exotic animals, prize-winning livestock, pony and carnival rides, as well as traditional live music. There are fun-filled contests for kids and adults. Hours: Friday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Entrance fees are $12 for adults, $8 for children 5 - 12 (under 5 free), and seniors (60+). Sunday is “Dollar Day,” and everyone gets in for $1. The admission price includes both the fair and the village. Plein-Air Landscape Painting with Annie Shaver-Crandell
Salmagundi Club plein-air artist Annie Shaver-Crandell will lead students through an afternoon of painting in Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The medium is students' choice (watercolor, oil or acrylic); instructions and suggested materials list will be provided upon registration.
