Wine Tasting, Cemetery Event and Election Day Mark Week Ahead in NE Queens

Also, Flushing Town Hall will host two jazz performances this week.

Monday

Community Board 11 will discuss tree pruning and a variance for a local auto dealership at its monthly meeting, which will take place at 7:30 p.m. at M.S. 158, located at 46-35 Oceania St. in Bayside.

Tuesday

It's Election Day! Take a look at Patch's roundup of which candidates are running this year and where your local voting sites are located.

Theatre By the Bay will hold dance auditions for "Anything Goes" at the Bay Terrace Jewish Center, located at 13-00 209th St. The audition begins at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday

The Trumpeters of Queens will perform at Flushing Town Hall, located at 137-35 Northern Blvd., at 8 p.m. The show will cost $15 for members and $10 for students.

Saturday

Theatre By the Bay will present a performance of "Guys and Dolls" at 8 p.m. at the Bay Terrace Jewish Center, located at 13-00 209th St.

The Bayside Historical Society is holding an event at Bayside’s Lawrence Cemetery, located at 216th Street and 42nd Avenue, during which local actors will give voice to famous residents from the community. The cemetery is the final resting place of the city’s first popularly elected mayor, Cornelius Van Wyke Lawrence, as well as descendants of Bayside’s founding families. The event begins at 2 p.m. and is free of charge.

Sunday

The Aaron Copland School of Music will present "Guerilla Ensemble" at Flushing Town Hall, located at 137-35 Northern Blvd. The jazz performance will be free to members and students, but will cost $5 for everyone else.

The Bayside Historical society will host its autumn wine tasting event at 2 p.m. The tasting will include a variety of fine wines and hors d’oeuvres from Bayside’s Papazzio Restaurant. Admission is $45 for historical society members and $50 for nonmembers. Reservations can be made by calling 718-352-1548.
