Sept. 11 Ceremony, Speed Dating Event Highlight Week in Northeast Queens

Monday

Community Board 11 will hold its first meeting of the fall at 7:30 p.m. at M.S. 158, located at 46-35 Oceania St. in Bayside. The board will discuss airplane noise and Fiscal Year 2015 priorities.

And today is the first day of school for New York City public schools. Check out this list of important dates for the upcoming school year.

Wednesday

The Bayside Hills Civic Association will host its annual Sept. 11 ceremony at 7 p.m. at the corner of Horace Harding Expressway and Bell Boulevard. Click here for more information on the event.

And there will be a monthly jazz jam with Don Byron at 7 p.m. at 137-35 Northern Blvd. in Flushing.

Thursday

Bourbon Street, located at 40-12 Bell Blvd. in Bayside, is hosting a speed dating event for women, ages 38-49 years, and men, ages, 40-52 years, at 8 p.m.
