Samuel Field Y Trips, Origami Class Highlight Week in Northeast Queens

Monday

The Bayside Library, located at 214-20 Northern Blvd., is hosting Origami Cards with Karen Wellington, a retired math teacher. During the class, Wellington will instruct children, ages 7 to 12 years, on how to design an origami card to take home using basic geometric shapes and papers of many colors and textures. The class begins at 2 p.m.

And the Douglaston Little Neck Library, located at 249-01 Northern Blvd., is holding its knitting and crocheting club at 4 p.m. Attendees should bring yarn and needles and share their knitting and crocheting skills with other participants.

The Samuel Field Y, located at 58-20 Little Neck Parkway, will host a series of winter trips for local youths between Dec. 23 and 31. Monday's event will be the Ultimate Game Show with Mainstages at P.S. 266.


Tuesday

The Samuel Field Y's winter recess trip for the day is Long Island's Active Kidz, where attendees can enter the Amazing Maze or the bouncy house.

Friday

The Samuel Field Y will take local youngsters to the Long Island Children’s Museum, where they will witness a bubble show, on Dec. 27.
