Michele Lee Show, 'The King and I' Sing-a-Long Mark Week Ahead in NE Queens

Tuesday

Theatre By the Bay will host auditions for "Anything Goes" at 7:30 p.m. at the Bay Terrace Jewish Center, located at 13-00 209th St. in Bayside. A number of singing and dancing parts are available for men, women and teenagers.

Wednesday

The Queens Botanical Garden will host a composting project at the Queens County Farm Museum from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be a $5 fee per person. Attendees will learn how to compost using kitchen scraps, weeds and garden trimmings. Registration is required. To sign up, call 718-539-5296.

Friday

NEA Jazz Masters will perform at 7:30 p.m. at Flushing Town Hall, located at 137-35 Northern Blvd. The band includes Jimmy Heath, Barry Harris, Jimmy Owens, three-time Grammy Award-winning bassist Christian McBride, be-bop guitarist Russell Malone and drummer Tootie Heath. The concert will cost $32 for members, $40 for nonmembers and $20 for students. 

Saturday

Queensborough Community College's performing arts center, located at 222-05 56th Ave. in Bayside, will hold a karaoke sing-and-dance-a-long for the film "The King and I" at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5.

A coalition of the Arthritis and the National Psoriasis foundations will hold an event at Queens College at 9:30 a.m. Dermatologist Russell Cohen and rheumatologist Andrew J. Porges will discuss how those who suffer from psoriatic arthritis can take control of their health.

Sunday

Michele Lee and the Broadway Boys will perform at Queensborough Community College's performing arts center, located at 222-05 56th Ave. in Bayside, at 3 p.m. Lee has starred on Broadway and performed in concerts and was nominated for an Emmy for her role on "Knots Landing." Tickets are $40.
