Elvis Impersonators, Social Media Workshop Highlight Week Ahead in Northeast Queens

Tuesday

The Bayside Library, located at 214-20 Northern Blvd., is offering a Tai Chi class at 1 p.m. The class, which is aimed at reducing stress and promoting relaxation, has limited space, so preregistration is required.

Wednesday

The Samuel Field Y will host a symposium on dementia research, treatment and caregiver support at 9:30 a.m. at Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, located at 164-11 Chapin Parkway in Jamaica Hills.

Thursday

The Bayside Business Association will hold a free networking event that will focus on how to grow a business through social media. The event will be held at noon at the association’s headquarters, located at 41-16 Bell Blvd.

The Douglaston Little Neck Library, located at 249-01 Northern Blvd., will offer an English conversation class at 3:30 p.m. Attendees will be able to practice their English grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation while talking about holidays, cooking, shopping, art, music, family and other topics.

Saturday

Queensborough Community Colleges performing arts center, located at 222-05 56th Ave. in Bayside, will hold Blue Suede Birthday at 8 p.m. The event will include performances by two renowned Elvis Presley impersonators, one of whom will sing tunes from the king’s early career and another who will tackle his later years, jumpsuits and all.
