Bird Club Film Festival, Acting Class Highlight Week Ahead in Northeast Queens

Monday

The Community Singers of Queens are holding rehearsals at Flushing's Messiah Lutheran Church, located at 42-15 165th St. The group consists of amateur singers who are accompanied and taught by professional, who help prepare them for a concert in May that will include pop, spirituals, classical and show tunes.

Tuesday

Queens Dance Project, located at 214-26 41st Ave., suite 105 in Bayside, is hosting Yoga Babies at 10 a.m. for children, ages 6 to 12 months, and at 11 a.m. for kids, ages 12 to 24 months.

The Bayside Library, located at 214-20 Northern Blvd., will offer a Tai Chi class at 1 p.m. Attendees will learn to reduce stress and promote greater relaxation. Preregistration is required.

Wednesday

The Queens County Bird Club will host its second annual winter film festival at 8 p.m. at Alley Pond Environmental Center, located at 228-06 Northern Blvd. in Douglaston. The group will screen several episodes of the TV show "Birding Adventures."

Saturday

Queens Dance Project, located at 214-26 41st Ave., will kick off the first workshop in a four-week acting class at 1:30 p.m. The class, which utilizes the Meisner Method, is aimed at ages 12 years and above and costs $250 for all four weeks.
