The Samuel Field Y will kick off its annual week-long fresh food drive in two weeks during its fall family festival.
The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 6 and include games, arts and crafts and food.
Local residents can drop off fresh produce from local community supported agriculture, supermarkets or home gardens through Oct. 13.
Items that can be dropped off for the drive include apples, oranges, potatoes, carrots and other vegetables.
This is the Y’s second year taking part in the Care to Share initiative, which is hosted by the UJA Federation of New York.
For more information on items to donate or to set up a drop-off time, contact Raizy Mushell at 718-225-6750, ext. 212.
The Samuel Field Y is located at 58-20 Little Neck Parkway.
