Samuel Field Y to Kick Off Fresh Food Drive on Oct. 6

Local residents will have a week to drop off produce after drive debuts at fall family festival.

The Samuel Field Y will kick off its annual week-long fresh food drive in two weeks during its fall family festival.

The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 6 and include games, arts and crafts and food.

Local residents can drop off fresh produce from local community supported agriculture, supermarkets or home gardens through Oct. 13.

Items that can be dropped off for the drive include apples, oranges, potatoes, carrots and other vegetables.

This is the Y’s second year taking part in the Care to Share initiative, which is hosted by the UJA Federation of New York.
