Queens Zoo Seeking Volunteers to Lead Tours, Events

The zoo will provide a one-day-a-week training course for six weeks in the new year.

The Wildlife Conservation Society is seeking applicants for its volunteer program at the Queens Zoo.

Participants will help teach visitors about wildlife as well as give guided tours, assist with special programs and events, provide narration at animal exhibits and lead arts and crafts activities.

Volunteers will also be given the opportunity to participate in guest programming, such as holiday events.

Training is on six consecutive Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., beginning on Jan. 9.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, available for a multi-week training program and able to commit to at least four hours per week.
