Bayside-Whitestone Lions Club hands out more than 175 trees during second annual event.
The Bayside-Whitestone Lions Club held its second annual tree giveaway on Saturday at Whitestone's A&S Nursery.
The group distributed more than 175 trees to local residents during the giveaway, which was held in conjunction with New York Restoration Project and Million Trees NYC.
Paul Vallone, the club's former president, said the group intended to hold the event annually for years to come.
The club will next host its second annual scholarship dinner at Whitestone's Verdi's on May 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information on that event, call 718-428-7285.
