Bar Crawling For A Cure On Bell

Cancer survivors, friends, and family gather to raise funds for Relay For Life.

More than 60 cancer survivors  accompanied by friends and family met at Monahan and Fitzgerald on Saturday afternoon to begin their pub-crawl up and down Bell Blvd.  to raise funds for the Relay For Life Event at Fort Totten.

Members of the group were spotted on Bell peppering the boulevard with their signature bright green t-shirts.

Curious onlookers like John Michelangeli commented on the scene in front of Bourbon Street, “I’ve never seen so much green except on St. Patty’s day.”

The group’s organizer, Mary Modica was not surprised with the large turnout. “We are here today to fight back and show how many people who’s lives have been affected by cancer.”

Jimmy McCarton, a Bayside Resident who lost his aunt to breast cancer came to support the fundraising initiative while enjoying cocktail and drink specials at participating venues.
