Taking the Train to the All-Star Game

Heading out to Flushing tonight to the game, or just want to be somewhere near the action in Queens? You're in luck, because the MTA is helping out with some extra trains

There were some problems in the area last night after a fire stranded thousands of people after the Home Run Derby. Some were forced to walk blocks away from the stadium to find cabs or take other trains.

Still, the MTA insists it's prepared for tonight's festivities.

"There’s no reason to sit in traffic when baseball fans can ride the MTA for an easy, comfortable ride to all the All-Star action," said MTA Chairman Thomas Prendergast.

Here are just a couple of the features you'll enjoy over the next few hours:

  • Special Super-Express 7 trains after the game's final out that stop only at 61st-Woodside Avenue, Queensboro Plaza, Court Square, 42nd St. Grand Central, 5th Avenue-Bryant Park and Times Square-42nd St.
  • Extra LIRR trains to Mets-Willets Point Station.
