Registration Open for Winter, Spring Soccer

Little Neck Douglaston Youth League Signing Up Players From Northeast Queens

The weather might be getting colder — but that shouldn't stop soccer lovers from competing in their favorite sport. As of this month, registration is now open to kids of all ages for both the winter soccer clinic and spring season.

The winter clinic will begin Jan. 8 and last for eight weeks. All sessions will be held on Saturdays in local public school gymnasiums. The sessions are 90 minutes each and will be conducted by a trainer with an emphasis on building individual skills.

The cost for the winter clinic is $125. A combo package is also offered which includes a fee of $170 for both the winter and spring seasons. Registrants must sign up prior to January 1st in order to receive the combo package.

Both the winter clinic and spring season players must adhere to a strict dress code which includes the basic soccer uniform consisting of shirts, shorts, shinguards, socks and cleats (sneakers are to be worn inside schools). The shorts must be athletic shorts. Socks must fully cover over the shin guards.

Times for each age group will not be known until the last week of December. Check back with Little Neck Patch for the latest schedules.
