Michelle Obama will drop by the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Saturday for the 18th annual Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day.
The first lady will be introduced by U.S. Open champion Serena William during the event, which kicks off at 9:30 a.m.
“We are thrilled the first lady will be joining us at Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, the largest single-day, grassroots tennis and entertainment event in the world,” said Dave Haggerty, chairman, CEO and president of USTA. “Her message of leading a healthy lifestyle is the perfect fit for this action-packed program that celebrates the life and values of tennis legend and humanitarian Arthur Ashe.”
During her visit, Obama will encourage children to get healthy and stay active as part of her Let’s Move! Initiative, which is aimed at cutting down on youth obesity.
The lineup for Saturday’s event includes singer Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone, teen sensation Coco Jones, British band Lawson, Swedish DJ duo Cazzette and tennis players Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and David Wagner.
The show will be hosted by Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day alumnus Missy Franklin and TV personality Quddus.
From 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., children and their families will be able to play tennis, watch live music and take part in other activities at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center.
From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the live tennis and music show will feature exhibition matches and skill competitions at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
