Mets Bobble PR In a Good Way

The Jay Horwitz bobblehead will be given away Friday to fans who buy a special ticket.

This year alone, the Mets have had Dwight Gooden, David Wright, Ron Darling and John Franco bobblehead nights.

A few special ticketholders were fortunate enough to earn a Mr. Met as Jedi Knight bobblehead, which routinely goes for more than $80 on eBay. I know that, because, well, I've been trying to talk my personal CEO (my wife) into letting me bid $150 for one - just to lock it up.

So far, no dice on getting home-corporate approval or finding one on the cheap.

This Friday, however, the Mets may be taking bobblehead giveaways to a new level.

The president's level.

The Mets are giving away bobbleheads of Mets PR VP Jay Horwitz Friday night, when the team takes on the Detroit Tigers.

To receive the Horwitz giveaway, follow this Mets link and purchase the $35 tickets. A portion of the money raised will be donated towards the "Hope Shines for Shannon" organization, which is named after Shannon Forde, the Mets director of public relations.

The beloved Forde is waging a battle against breast cancer.

If you're interested in picking up the bobblehead but can't make the game, there is always eBay.
