QCC to Expand Teens College Internship Opportunities

Queensborough Community College's Teens College will expand its internship opportunities for local youths next spring and summer, the program's coordinator said.

This summer, the Bayside college placed local teens in internships at Douglaston's National Art League, the Kupferberg Holocaust Center and the Self Advocacy Association of New York State.

But this coming spring and summer, the school is aiming to obtain internships for teens at local group homes, real estate offices and nursing homes.

"We're looking into group homes for the intellectually disabled," said Jacqueline Montgomery, coordinator for the Teens College. "We want to expand to medical, social and real estate. Teens are typically very busy during the school year, but we're thinking of offering new internships during the spring."
