Northeast Queens Students Make Dean's List, Earn Degrees

Students from Douglaston and Bayside honored for academics, take part in commencement ceremonies.

Two northeast Queens students made the dean’s list at their respective schools, while another four graduated from Hofstra University.

Qiyang Zhang, of Bayside, was placed on the dean’s list at Atlanta’s Emory College of Arts and Sciences for the spring semester. To make the list, a student must be in the top 20 percent or have a 3.85 grade point average.

Douglaston’s Timothy Chan made the list at the State University of New York’s Potsdam campus. To make that list, a student must complete at least 12 semester hours with a 3.25 grade point average.

Four Bayside students received their diplomas at Hofstra University’s recent graduation.

Jun Niu earned a master of science in finance, while Daniel Santeufemia and Zachary Sherman received their bachelor of arts degrees in psychology and Heather Verbell earned a bachelor of business administration in marketing.
