Local Students Can Apply for UFT, Nordstrom Scholarships
United Federation of Teachers will hand out scholarships at dinner dance in May.
The United Federation of Teachers and Council of Supervisors and Administrators are accepting scholarship applications for city school District 26.
The scholarships will be awarded at the UFT’s annual dinner dance on May 31.
Applications must be received by April 14. Visit the UFT’s site and search for District 26 Scholarship Application 2011-2012.

District 26 covers a number of Queens neighborhoods, including Douglaston, Little Neck, Bayside, Queens Village, Bellerose and Oakland Gardens.

In addition, Nordstrom Department Stores is providing scholarships to local high school juniors for college. The company awards 80 scholarships in the amount of $10,000 each. For additional information, visit Nordstrom’s website.
