Little Neck Students Make Dean's Lists

Students at Ithaca, Marist, CUNY Macaulay Honors College and Berklee College of Music are honored for their grades.

Four Little Neck students have been named to the dean’s lists of their colleges and universities.

Ilana Dadras made the list at CUNY Macaulay Honors College. She is currently studying abroad at the University of Paris, Sorbonne.

Laura Matelsky, who is an English/Writing and Adolescent Education double major in the class of 2013, was named to Marist College’s dean’s list for the fall of 2011.

Aaron Huang was placed on the fall semester’s list at Boston’s Berklee College of Music. To be eligible to make the list, full-time students must achieve a 3.4 grade point average or above.

And Chris Chae, a junior Exploratory major, made the dean’s list at Ithaca College’s School of Humanities and Sciences for the fall 2011 semester.

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
