CDEC 26 to Talk Airplane Noise at Oct. 30 Meeting

Education council will hear an update on airplane noise over northeast Queens from Queens Quiet Skies members.

Community District Education Council 26 will host a discussion on airplane noise over northeast Queens during its Oct. 30 meeting.

The group, which represents schools in Bayside, Douglaston and Little Neck, will meet at 8 p.m. at M.S. 67, located at 51-60 Marathon Parkway in Little Neck, in room B44A.

There will be a Power Point presentation from Queens Quiet Skies on recent airspace redesign programs at LaGuardia Airport that have resulted in constant airplane noise over northeast Queens.

Janet McEneaney, a Community Board 11 and Queens Quiet Skies founder, and Douglaston’s Bob Whitehair, a former pilot, will discuss steps being taken to combat the airplane noise.

Also, CDEC 26 will vote on a resolution for increasing its administrative assistant’s salary.
