CDEC 26 to Elect Officers on July 17

Education council will hold its annual meeting at M.S. 74 to choose its chairman and other officers.

Community District Education Council 26 will hold its annual meeting to elect its new officers on July 17 in Bayside.

The group, which represents schools in Bayside, Douglaston, Little Neck and several other northeast Queens neighborhoods, will elect its chairman and other officers during the meeting, which will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Room 121 of M.S. 74, located at 61-15 Oceania St.

Last month, the board announced that it currently has three vacancies for parents of District 26 students. One of them must be the parent of an English Language Learner student.

CDEC 26 members advocate for the concerns of the district, work on establishing education policies for local schools and meet with Parent Teacher Association officers, school leadership teams and principals.
