CDEC 26 Seeks New Members

The board covers schools in Bayside, Douglaston and Little Neck.

Community District Education Council 26 is seeking two parents of students in northeast Queens schools to become members.

The board, which covers Bayside, Little Neck, Douglaston and several other communities, currently has three vacancies, including two parents, one of whose child must be an English Language Learner student.

The third vacancy is for a borough appointee.

Applications for interested parents can be picked up at the CDEC's office, located at 61-15 Oceania St., Room 128, in Bayside, or obtained by emailing http://www.schools.nyc.gov/councils.

CDEC 26 members advocate for the concerns of District 26 parents, work on establishing education policies for the district and meet with Parent Teacher Association officers, school leadership teams and principals.
