CDEC 26 Seeks English Language Learner Parent

Board member would be provided with translator at all meetings.

Community District Education Council 26 is searching for a parent with a child in the district’s English Language Learner program to fill a vacancy on the board.

The parent would be provided with a personal translator for every CDEC 26 meeting.

Candidates can pick up the application from the parent coordinator of their child’s school or at the education council’s office, located at 61-15 Oceania St., Room 128 in Bayside.

Parents on the council take part in quarterly meetings with Parent-Teacher Association officers, coordinate with school leadership teams, assist in evaluating the community superintendent and approve zoning lines submitted by the superintendent.

Completed applications should be faxed to The County Administrative Assistant at 718-631-1347 or emailed to Marian Mason, CDEC 26’s administrative assistant, at  mmason@schools.nyc.gov.
