CDEC 26 Meeting to Include Some Mad Hot Ballroom

Education Council Will Also Honor New Principal of P.S. 162

Schoolchildren participating in a city ballroom dancing program will present a special performance at Community District Education Council 26’s April meeting in Bayside.

Students from Fresh Meadows’ P.S. 26, Bayside’s P.S. 41 and Holliswood’s PS 178 will show off their fancy footwork on April 28 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Bayside’s M.S. 74, located at 61-15 Oceania St.

In 2006, Douglaston’s P.S. 98 won the city finals for Dancing Classrooms, a citywide ballroom dancing program founded in 1994 by Pierre Dulaine that was featured in two films, “Mad Hot Ballroom” and “Take the Lead.”
