CDEC 26 Elects Officers for School Year
Jeannette Segal will remain president of the education council.
Community District Education Council 26 has elected its new officers for the ongoing school year.
Jeannette Segal will remain president of the council, while Ricky Chan was elected first vice president and Daniel John O’Gallagher will be second vice president.
Michelle Fields will act as the council’s treasurer and Susan Shiroma is the borough appointee. Pankaj Kapur is the sixth member of the board.

The council’s duties include serving as a liaison with school leadership teams, providing input to the schools chancellor, evaluating the community superintendent, approving zoning lines for district schools and reviewing district educational programs.
The board covers schools in Bayside, Douglaston, Little Neck, Fresh Meadows, Oakland Gardens, Bellerose, Floral Park and Queens Village.

The group will next meet at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30 in Room B44A of Little Neck’s M.S. 67, which is located at 51-60 Marathon Parkway.
