Bayside, Little Neck Students Honored for Academics

Students placed on honor's, dean's lists for fall semester.

Two Bayside students and another from Little Neck have been honored for academics at their respective colleges for the fall semester.

Franklin Park, of Bayside, was named to the honor’s list at Farleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, N.J.

To quality for the list, a student must be enrolled in 12 hours and earn a 3.5 grade point average.

Alexandra Katechis, of Bayside, made the dean’s list at Clark University in Worcester, Mass.

To make the list, a student must have a 3.8 grade point average.

And Samantha Kantor, of Little Neck, was placed on the second honors list on Clark University’s dean’s list. To make this list, a student must earn a 3.5 grade point average.

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
