Bayside High Schools Make List of 2,000 Best in the Nation

Three other nearby schools also make the list compiled by Newsweek/The Daily Beast.

Both of Bayside’s high schools and three other nearby schools were listed among the 2,000 best in the nation on a list compiled by Newsweek/The Daily Beast.  

The list – America’s Best High Schools 2013 – ranked the schools based on graduation rates, college acceptance rate and average test scores.  

Bayside High School ranked 331st on the list for its 91 percent graduation rate, 99 percent college acceptance rate and 1510 average SAT score.  

Benjamin N. Cardozo High School placed 1,153rd for its 85 percent graduation rate, 96 percent college acceptance rate and 1545 average SAT score.  

Flushing’s Townsend Harris High School came in 43rd place for its 100 percent graduation and college acceptance rates and its 1925 SAT score average.  

Jamaica's Queens High School for the Sciences came in 98th place for its 98 percent graduation rate, 100 percent college acceptance rate and 1868 SAT score average.  

And nearby Great Neck South High School was ranked 67th for its 99 percent graduation rate, 98 percent college acceptance rate and 1865 SAT score average.
