New York City's Finest and Bravest - All in a Day's Work

The Finest and Bravest on the job.

This past Tuesday the residents of New York City once again were shown why they are fortunate to live in a city with best emergency responders in the world.

The horrific helicopter crash in the East River had just occurred when OEM deputy commissioner Francis McCarton and his dedicated aides, who by fortunate cicumstance were nearby, began the rescue process, according to the New York Times.

Additionally, members of New York's finest counterterroism unit, who were also by chance nearby, literally dove into action to rescue the pilot and passengers. New York's bravest soon arrived on scence along with elite NYPD ESU divers. The rescue effort was well coordianted and efficient thanks to the unselfish efforts of these first responders, who once again put themselves in harms way for the safety of others.  All in a day's work.
