Analysis of the 2012 Republican presidential candidates has dominated headlines across the country for months. Today though, the stakes officially raise with the Iowa caucuses, to be broadcast at 8 p.m., marking the first “real” indicator of who may have a shot at winning the presidency.

But in the eyes of voters, how do the caucuses differ from the many debates and countless polls that preceded them? With costly campaigns that have already stretched on for half a year, and long-guarded secrets whose sudden exposure can unravel a candidate’s carefully cultivated persona at any moment, we want to know: Does the public still care about who wins the caucuses? Or are they just another act in a seemingly endless political drama?
