Councilman Mark Weprin, D-Oakland Gardens, will hold a participatory budgeting meeting for northeast Queens residents on Sept. 19 in Holliswood.
Participatory budgeting allows residents to decide on how to spend $1 million allocated to the community.
Community members volunteer as budget delegates and work in committees to turn projects into proposals that are vetted by city agencies and then voted on during an election.
Proposals discussed at tomorrow’s meeting will appear on a ballot for a public vote next spring.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Hillside Manor, located at 188-11 Hillside Ave.
Weprin will host two other upcoming participatory budgeting meetings in the district.
On Sept. 23, a meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the Fresh Meadows Library, located at 193-20 Horace Harding Expressway. A second one will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 30 at SNAP Senior Center, located at 80-45 Winchester Blvd. in Queens Village.
