Weprin to Host Participatory Budgeting Meeting on Sept. 19

Meeting will be held at Hillside Manor.

Councilman Mark Weprin, D-Oakland Gardens, will hold a participatory budgeting meeting for northeast Queens residents on Sept. 19 in Holliswood.

Participatory budgeting allows residents to decide on how to spend $1 million allocated to the community.

Community members volunteer as budget delegates and work in committees to turn projects into proposals that are vetted by city agencies and then voted on during an election.
