Weiner Considering Citywide Run: Report

Former congressman could run for citywide office next year.

Former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner could be thinking about making a political comeback, according to the New York Post.

In a report Sunday morning, the paper wrote that Weiner, who has over $4 million dollars in contributions toward a possible campaign, is considering running for citywide office again. 

Why so soon? The city's political matching funds on Weiner's impressive war chest is set to expire at the end of 2013, the Post reported.

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
