Vallone Picks Up NYClass Endorsement in Council Bid

Animal advocacy group backs Flushing attorney in race for Dan Halloran's seat.

Flushing attorney Paul Vallone nabbed an endorsement this week from NYClass, an animal rights advocacy group.

NYClass, which stands for New Yorkers for Clean Livable and Safe Streets, also threw its weight behind Councilman Mark Weprin's reelection bid.

"These candidates have pledged their willingness to stand with NYClass as we promote the building of shelters to provide refuge for the abandoned animals wandering the streets of Queens," said Allie Feldman, the group's executive director.

Vallone will face off in the Democratic primary for Councilman Dan Halloran's seat against former state Assemblyman John Duane, former Halloran chief of staff Chrissy Voskerichian, longtime community activist Paul Graziano and Austin Shafran, formerly of Empire State Development.
