Vallone Announces Staff Members for Council Office

Councilman-elect releases names of four full-time and three part-time staffers for his office.

Councilman-elect Paul Vallone has announced four full-time and another three part-time staff members who will be part of his team when he takes office in January.

Vallone, who defeated Republican Dennis Saffran in the November general election, will replace Councilman Dan Halloran, R-Whitestone, who is stepping down early next year amid an alleged corruption scandal.

Jonathan Szott will act as Vallone’s chief of staff, while Mike Yon will be his community liaison.

“I look forward to working with the staff that has stood beside me since day one,” Vallone said.

He said he would continue to expand his staff after taking office in early January.

Vallone, a Flushing attorney, is the brother of Councilman Peter Vallone Jr., D-Astoria, and son of former City Council Speaker Peter Vallone.
