There Was A Slowdown, Believe Most Bayside Patchers

Three quarters of those polled believed Councilman Dan Halloran's account of last winter's Boxing Day Blizzard cleanup.

On the anniversary of the historic Boxing Day Blizzard, Patch if you believed the slow cleanup of the Boxing Day Blizzard was intentional.

As you likely remember, Councilman Dan Halloran, R-Whitestone, had alleged that  workers came to him in the last week of 2010, professing that they were told to be  in their snow removal efforts.

The motivation, Halloran said, was to protest the slated demotion of 100 DSNY supervisors—of which only 50 were ultimately demoted.

A report published this summer by the City's Dept. of Investigation, . Those Halloran cited as sources, did not corroborate his story.

A sweeping majority, 60 individuals, answered yes, and 20 individuals responded no, to this question: Do you believe members of the Department of Transportation were purposely slow in plowing snow that fell during last year's Boxing Day Blizzard?

So, according to our unscientific poll, 75 percent of Bayside Patch readers do believe it happened as Halloran said it did.
