Shafran, Vallone Pick Up Endorsements in Council Race

Shafran receives nod from a number of unions, while Vallone is endorsed by law enforcement group.

Austin Shafran picked up a slew of endorsements in his bid for Councilman Dan Halloran's seat, while Paul Vallone received a nod from a law enforcement union.

Shafran, formerly of Empire State Development, was endorsed by the Working Families Party, United Federation of Teachers, Hotel Trades Council, 1199 SEIU, NYC Central Labor Council, UFCW Local 1500, sea real Teamsters chapters, Transportation Workers Union Local 100 and a number of other unions representing plumbers, painters, communication workers and transit workers.

Vallone, a Flushing attorney and brother of Councilman Peter Vallone Jr., picked up an endorsement from the Captain's Endowment Association.
