New York City schools will be closed on Nov. 12 as the city observes Veterans Day, according to the city's Department of Education.
Additionally, alternate side parking will be suspended on Monday for the holiday, but parking meters and other regulations remain in effect.
Alternate side parking is also cancelled for Tuesday in honor of Diwali, a Hindu celebration known as the "festival of lights."
