The race for state Assemblyman Rory Lancman’s seat could yield two primary races this fall after the former chief of state to a Manhattan assemblyman recently threw her hat into the race.

Last month, Nily Rozic, the former chief of staff to Assemblyman Brian Kavanagh, D-Manhattan, entered the race.
“My campaign is based on the values of every hard working middle class family – access to quality education, jobs that pay a good wage and a health care system that addresses the needs of every New Yorker,” said Rozic, who is a member of Community Board 8.
Republican contenders in the race include Abe Fuchs, a retired postal worker from Kew Gardens Hills, and William Garifal Jr., a Flushing-based Internet marketer who is the Queens County Republican Party’s pick.
The primary election will be held on Sept. 13.
